About the design:  A few times a year, my father takes the long trek to visit family in his home country of Iran. Upon his return he brings me back beautiful textiles, ceramics and metal work from various bazaars across the region. This blanket was inspired by one of my favorite rugs he has brought back to date. It’s been a dream of mine to work with textile makers in Iran and create contemporary rugs. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible given the political climate so I created this bootleg blanket inspired by that rug as a way to capture this important cultural tradition and personal experience.  -Bijan
